The benefits of healthy eating are these days being given more attention than ever before and there are many reasons for doing this. Poor diet is one factor in illnesses such as heart disease and hypertension which can put a drain on the economy. There are more and more campaigns to try to get us to follow a more healthy lifestyle and all the same it is also easier than ever to rely on fast, convenient food that is very bad for our health. It is likely that lots of people feel it will take lots of effort to eat a healthy diet or that they have to make a large scale change to the way they live. Contrary to that information, people can change their eating habits for the better by implementing several modest changes.
These better food options can be applied to other foods such as your cooking oils. Olive oil, for instance, contain monounsaturated fats which are known as the good fats that battle the effects of bad cholesterol. It also provides vitamin E which is great for your skin, among other things. If you currently are consuming plenty of fresh fruits and leafy greens, you may want to think about where you’re buying them and if it’s the best source. If at all possible, try buying organic produce that has not been sprayed with toxic pesticides. Searching for a local supplier of fresh fruits and veggies will give you the option of eating foods that still contain most of the nutrients which are often lost when produce has been kept in storage before it is sold.
As you can see, it’s not at all hard to begin incorporating healthy eating into your daily lifestyle.

Steps to make Vietnamese Coffee (Cold brew with condensed milk):

- Add water to coffee beans. This is a 1:4 ratio of ground coffee to water. This was the perfect strength for me.
- For a stronger brew reduce the water to 3 cups (Pictured is a 1:2 ratio which I felt was going to be too strong for me)
- Let infuse for 20 - 24 hours
